By using lines and shapes the students will be able to draw their own "Wild Thing" from imagination.

Materials:
11x14 Black Paper
Oil Pastels
Where The Wild Things Are book by Maurice Sendak

Summary:
By looking at some of the illustrations in the book Where The Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak, the students were able to see that lines and shapes made up the characters. Various practices of lines and shapes were done before each student created their own imaginary Wild Thing using oil pastels on black paper.
